I'm sure you will be able to find which object (s) (if any in particular) is causing a lag in the Profiler Tab. If it's something I missed, I'm assuming others may have as well. Flickering and showing compositor screen is generally caused by Unity not being able to Render a frame. ![]() If that is a requirement, I haven't seen it detailed in any documentation or FAQ. I didn't get the error (because it became my primary) but of course performance was horrible. the Vive may not work if attached to an adaptor, some work some dont. use the HDMI for the Vive, and get an adaptor to run the Monitor off the other output. As an aside I found it by trying the headset on the motherboard. You need both the Vive and Monitor working at the same time. Then made sure the card they were on was the primary. Compositor is not running issue and HTC Support cant solve it Since last night I cant get my Vive running. I put one of my monitors on DVI, and the headset on that same card. I have two GTX 970's and an HDMI on my motherboard. What finally worked for me, is to make sure the headset is on the same card as my primary monitor. I found a few older discussions here and in the steam community that discussed it, and a variety of possible solutions, but nothing that fixed it and nothing newer. Despite the fact that Direct Mode is disabled, SteamVR will continue to run in Extended mode. Set your default audio playback device to HTC-VIVE-0. Get the latest drivers from NVIDIA or AMD. When you restart SteamVR, it will be configured as before. Set your PC's power plan to 'High performance' (Press the Windows key > Type: power > Select 'Power Options' > Select 'High performance') Set NVIDIA power management to 'prefer maximum performance' as outlined here. ![]() Hi all, had the same problem but after changing my environment from a user named Wayne Borrett with the environment TEST USE. exe file, hold shift and right click on it and choose 'launch as administrator'. To enable direct mode, choose the icon that says Enable Direct Mode. try go into the 'bin' folder of steamvr, you'll see compositor's. The error had a link saying "Launch Compositor" but clicking it seemed to do nothing. Verify that you are in Direct Mode by going to Settings > Developer > Direct Mode and clicking on it. When I first hooked up my Vive I kept getting the error "Compositor not available (400)" when trying to start SteamVR. ![]()
